The 2011 Jamis Dakar XCT 4 is a top of the line full suspension mountain bike that shares the same super light 1950 gram frame with the Dakar XCT 3, albeit in a Pearl White/Carbon color. The new 2011 bikes from Jamis feature a 1 1/8” - 1.5” tapered head tube to keep the frame light while increasing stiffness and strength at the crown, while the asymmetrical chainstays achieve greater tire clearance.

The headset and tires are also the same as those found on the XCT 3, while the fork, wheels and components have all been upgraded. MP4 linkage suspension system offers a fully active 130mm of travel and is controlled by a Fox Float RP23 BV rear shock. FOX’s 32 Talas RLC fork delivers 100, 120 and 140mm travel options, all of which are easily accessed on the fly depending on riding conditions. Both the SRAM XO rear derailleur and XO brakes are some of the lightest on the market, and the lightweight American Classic wheels are accompanied by AC 130 and 225 hubs which are also some of the lightest on the market. Geax AKA is a versatile tire for many types of terrain that has lower profile knobs in the center for low rolling resistance, and side knobs directly derived from their aggressive Gato tire for grip.
