The Bass has also been made more affordable for 2011, with micro drive chromed cranks, a smaller drive train (28t x 14t), and a Marzocchi DJ2 fork (as opposed to the more expensive DJ1 fork). Features that remain the same for 2011 include a strong yet lightweight aluminum frame. This model is a step up from the lower cost Cowan (2011) model in that it has a Fastrax Air rear shock (which offers vibration absorption), a higher quality FSA Orbit 1.5 headset, and Maxxis Larson TT 26" x 2.35" tires (which are more versatile than the Cowan (2011) model's pavement-oriented Holy Roller tires).
