Kona Caldera (2011)

 Kona's Caldera 2011 model is the flagship in the recreational hardtail cross country lineup and is intended for most types of XC riding. It has the highest pricepoint of the hardtail XC's, and is fairly similar to the 2010 Caldera model.

It does have some upgrades: the fork is a RockShox Recon coil instead of Tora, and the hydraulic disc brakes are Avid Elixir 5's instead of Shimano M575's. The main components are similar, including Deore shifters and FSA Comet cranks, though the front derailleur is a step down to Shimano's Alivio. Both the 2010 and 2011 have high-end rear derailleurs, Shimano XT Shadow. The tires are Maxxis instead of Kenda.
