Kona Hei-Hei 2-9 (2011)

$3,699.00 Released January, 2011

Product Shot 1 Kona's Hei-Hei 2-9 2011 model is a higher-end mountain bike that falls at the top of the 29er lineup, and one of only two to feature a rear suspension. It fits a similar niche as the 2010 model and uses the same Fox front and rear suspensions, and it also has a Scandium butted frame.

Where to Buy

There are changes to the geometry, like more standover room, set back seat post and a mote tapered steer tube, which help improve efficiency while climbing. Many of the components are different as well, as the 2011 version uses an exclusively SRAM X9 drivetrain. The wheelset is also Easton instead of Kore, and the hyrdraulic disc brakes are Avid Elixir CRs instead of Shimano SLX. The Hei-Hei 2-9 SE is a variation of this model and features the same frame and geometry with slightly downgraded components, for a lower price point. See below.
