Kona Kula (2011)

 Kona's Kula 2011 model is a mid-range cross-country racing bike and the first model in the XC Race lineup. It is a redesigned version of the 2010 model, and the main upgrades are the inclusion of a frame that uses less material and increase stiffness, a Recon Gold fork with PopLoc remote, and Avid Elixir 5 disc brakes.

Also, this version has full Shimano wheels (hubs, spokes, rims). The drivetrain uses Shimano Deore shifters and front derailleur, and the high end XT Shadow rear derailleur. The stem, seatpost, grips and handlebar are the only Kona house components. Maxxis Aspen kevlar tires are fitted on the Shimano MT15 wheelset. The Kula Gold and Kula Watt are both above this in the series, and have some significant component differences.
