Otherwise, the Kona Kula Deluxe sports most of the same features as the Kona Kula, including hydroformed tubing and an internal headset.
The Kula Deluxe's Scandium alloy frame composition is twice as strong as 7005 or 6061 aluminum while still being 10 to 15% lighter than either one; its Scandium frame gives the Kula Deluxe the characterisitcs of a steel bike at half of the weight. Its hydroformed tubing gives the Kula Deluxe a more stable and balanced frame construction by way of liquid used to form the shape of its tubing and align its grain structure. Additionally, the Kula Deluxe's internal headset provides less play, improved ride characteristics, and better bearing performance through a headset bearing that is located inside the head tube rather than above or below.
