Kona Major Jake

The Kona Major Jake is a high-end commuter/road/racing bicycle similar to Kona's Jake the Snake. The Major Jake, however, sports a number of improvements over Jake the snake, primarily stronger and lighter Scandium tubing, as well as much higher end components (Mavic Ksyrium Equipe Wheelset, Continental SpeedKing Cross Kevlar 700x35C tires).

The Major Jake and Jake the Snake do, however, share compact rear triangle technology.

The Major Jake's high-end components are the same components used by the Orange Crush cyclocross team: professionally verified as high quality. Its Scandium tubing makes the Major Jake twice as strong as bikes with a 6061 or 7005 aluminum frame as well as 10-15%; it is also cheaper and more durable than similar carbon bikes. Additionally, the Major Jake's compact rear triangle features short chain and seat stays for less deflection during braking and faster acceleration.
