It is an improved and redesigned model inspired by the previous Shore models. It has a rear suspension design that improves on the previous FSR type. The ride is smoother in general, both uphill and down. This bike has a lowered bottom bracket that improves handling and stability due to a lower centre of gravity. The head tube is tapered to reduce weight, and the head angle is 65.5 degrees, optimized for downhill riding. Upgrades over the Truax 1 include SRAM X9 shifters and rear derailleur, Shimano SLX front derailleur. The front fork is a substantial upgrade as well, to a Fox 36 180 Talas RC 2. Also upgraded are the seatpost, rims, tires, hubs, spokes, crankset and pedals. In fact, most of the components are different - see the manufacturer page for exact specifications. The seat tube is full-length, and allows the rider to opt for a standard seatpost or upgrade to a telescoping one later. Another main feature is that the Truax 1 does not have a clevis in its suspension, reducing weight and limiting pressure points. The Truax Team is the only freeride model higher than this one. This model has a high price point and is recommended for experienced or committed downhill riders.
