Trek Erwin

The Trek Erwin is a cyclocross bike with a price at the lower end of the Gary Fisher collection. While the Trek Cronus CX used Avid Shorty Ultimate brakes, for instance, here Avid Shorty 4 cantilever brakes are used instead.

 The frame is made of custom-butted Platinum Series Steel, which is heavier than the carbon counterparts in the series. A basic Bontrager Race Lite Cross fork is used to offer good handling, and Bontrager SSR wheels are used to balance decent performance with a good price. Shimano shifters and deraillers are used with an FSA Gossamer MegaExo crank and an SRAM PG-950 9-speed cassette to complete the drivetrain.
