The Trek Pilot 2.0 is a road bike similar to the Trek 2 series, but has been designed for comfort with a more relaxed frame shape and higher head tube. The frame is made from Hydroformed Alpha Black Aluminum which is mid-grade in terms of weight/price and is used for the entire Pilot and 2 series.

Frames that have a red designation metal, weather it be carbon or in this case aluminum are the lightest and most expensive while the white designation means least expensive and heaviest(used for the 1 series). The fork is made of lightweight carbon, and the drivetrain is made from Shimano 105 parts which include the front and rear derailleurs, shifters, breaks, crank and cassette. Bontrager wheels, tires and components have also been used, including the fork, saddle, seat post, handlebars and stem. The Pilot series is a good bike for the typical cyclist who doesn't intend on doing any competitive racing owing to it's relaxed ride, but it's frame and light weight make it a contender in a road race.
