Trek's own OCLV (Optimum Compaction Low Void) technology is incorporated within the main frame to reduce unnecessary weighting while maintaining a high level of durability, utilizing a multi-directional layering technique called Flat Ply Collation. Fox 32 Talas RL front suspension incorporates a tapered steerer for precision turning, while the company's Float RP-2 rear suspension system incorporates a "trail-tuned" design for improved shock response on rough, mountainous terrain. For smoother riding applications, tubeless-compatible DT Swiss M wheels are provided that feature a sturdy 32-hole design, with Bontrager XR3 expert tires for long-lasting durability. The Remedy 9.7's drivetrain components are contributed solely by the SRAM company, comprising an X.7 10-speed shifter unit and front derailleur with an X.9-type rear derailleur. Additional bike components include a lightweight chromoly-railed Evoke 2 saddle and Rhythm Elite seatpost from Bontrager, as well as a set of Avid Elixir R hydraulic disc brakes for ultra-responsive stopping. The Remedy 9.7 is available in 15.5, 17.5, 18.5, 19.5 and 21.5-inch frame sizes.
