Trek Skye S

$460.00 Released July, 2009

Product Shot 1The Trek Skye S is a mid-range women's mountain bike and is the next level up from the low-end Trek Skye. Although very similar, the Skye S has a couple of key improvements over the Skye, namely: an Alpha White or Alpha Black aluminum frame with semi-integrated head tube, bi-oval down tube w/integrated gusset, rack and fender mounts, disc compatible dropouts and a replaceable derailleur hanger and a heftier 80mm SR Suntour XCT V2 with preload front suspension as compared to the Skye's Alpha Black/White aluminum frame with externally relieved head tube, bi-axial down tube and disc compatible dropouts and its 63mm SR Suntour M-2025 w/coil spring front suspension.

Otherwise, the Skye and Skye S share similar features and design, such as: cantilever or disc brakes; 7 or 8 speed shifters; 26x2.0" Bontrager LT-3 tires; Bontrager 550 rims with brushed sidewalls and Wellgo nylon platform pedals.

Its more advanced frame and higher quality front suspension give the Skye S a more comfortable ride while the frame's aluminum construction provides it with durability without sacrificing speed. The Skye S' 26x2.0" Bontrager LT-3 tires and Wellgo nylon platform pedals provide it with a more lightweight ride without sacrificing durability, while its choices of cantilever or disc brakes and 7 or 8 speed shifters give you some customization options for a more personalized ride.
