Trek's OCLV (Optimum Compaction Low Void) Carbon technology has been implemented within the main frame and seatstay areas of the bike for drastically improved durability, utilizing a multi-directional material technique called Flat Ply Collation. Front suspension is handled RockShox SID RLT shocks with a tapered steerer for precision steering, while a set of "race-tuned" Fox Float RP-2s cover rear suspension needs. The wheels of the 9.7 employ the Bontrager Race Lite disc wheel system, a 28-hole center-locking design that helps to reduce sway at high speeds. The 10-speed drivetrain comprises multiple parts from Shimano's SLX series, with additional components including a pair of Race Lite handlebars for a consistently low center of gravity and a pair of Avid Elixir R hydraulic disc brakes for ultra-responsive stopping. The Top Fuel 9.7 is available in five different frame sizes for professional-level riders of all heights.
